MY FAVORITE KPOP SONGS OF 2012 pt3

Final part!

30. THIS IS WAR – MBLAQ

Now tell me, what girl wouldn’t like having this 2 fine guys fighting over her? Declaring war to each other while dancing and singing in those outfits? haha ok scratch that last part. This song is great, the lyrics are great, the performances were over the top, a perfect comeback for Mblaq.

29. WHAT IS LOVE – EXO K

Oh baby, don’t hurt me, don’t hurt me no more… #OKNOT … I could not stop playing that in my head everytime I heard the tittle of this song hahaha. This song brings me back to the golden TVXQ days, is a beautiful soft sound, made to show off the vocal skills of its interpreters, my favorite EXO song.

28. VENUS – HELLOVENUS

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y- GIRLS lalalalalalala. Pretty girls + catchy song + colorful MV = old formula… but it worked like new for this girls! … not bad Hello Venus!  My favorite debut song of the first half of the year.

MY FAVORITE KPOP SONGS OF 2012 pt1

HELLO 2013!

I am gonna start this new year with my favorite songs from 2012!

What a great year!!! But If I have to make a summary of what this year meant to Kpop, it would be this: Lots of high quality rookies, everybody wants to go solo, scandals scandal scandals, and of course YG year (the awesome Big Bang comeback, G-Dragon, Lee Hi, 2NE1 and of course PSY)

And other thing, I am sorry,  I know I’ve been neglecting my blog.  I got a new job and everything changed.  So  I made a resolution of always keeping up with the new releases, I already ajusted to my new life and I am ready to go!

100. BOUNCE – JJ PROJECT

Lets start this countdown with a rookie group. In a year filled with rookies, I was hoping for more, is JYP you know? Epic debut songs (irony, 10 points over 10, good girl bad girl, etc). The group came out of nowhere after the awful Dream High 2 with an energetic song, but very forgettable. But since I am a fool for those smiles I´ll let them be in my ranking. 😀

99. WHAT ARE YOU DOING TODAY? – HELLOVENUS

Finally we get to see the 6 of them performing. Almost at the end of 2012 the lovely girls from HELLO VENUS made another cute comeback. And as much as I dont like over the top cuteness I do like this song. I am so biased towards them hahahaha, their debut song was everything to me so now I kind  of like every release! hahaha Leaving behind my madness, this is a great Kpop song.

98. I FEEL GOOD – EXID

This song kind of reminds me of B.E.P.  dont you think? You can feel Shinsadong Tiger´s hand on it, is a pretty good piece of music. “I feel good” is a great song for a rookie, and is admirable the fact that they could sing it with all the swag it required. NOT BAD!

MY FAVORITE SONGS FROM THE FIRST HALF OF 2012

40. G.NA – 2HOT

If I did not love G.na last year with “Top Girl”, I am loving her even less this year with “2HOT”. I wish I could see more of the Black&White girl I like. All and all, the song is good for her, It allows G.na to perform nicely and to try another kind of sound. Experimenting is good for growing so this was a nice try (but It could have been better). She is in this list because I love her, and I like the MV.

 39. BUSKER BUSKER – CHERRY BLOSSOM ENDING

This guys were my biggest surprise this year. I can´t get enough of this amazing song.

38. HONEY HONEY – GANGKIZ

Baby honey honey honey baby come to me CLAP! I am sad their debut was so little notorious. This song is good and actually gives you a vibe of what Gangkiz is all about.

MY FAVORITE DEBUT SONGS

I have a weakness for debut songs.

I believe so much in first impressions that it is impossible not to judge a group by the song that brings it into the spotlight.

Is true that having a regular/bad debut does not mean you can’t do better later, but It helps a lot if you were succesful from day one… right? You create a large fan base that will help you for future comebacks. You get more media coverage, you are better known and you already have a hit song in your portfolio.

So here are my 30 favorite debut songs. Not all fo them were great achievements for their performers, but I loved them… that is enough to make it on this list… enjoy:

30. Apink – I Don’t Know

So sweet that it can give you cavities. But no one can deny it was a good debut, the best rookies of 2011.

28. Nine Muses – No Playboy

I dont want no playboy…NO! So you have model like girls and a catchy song. Isn’t that what Kpop is all about? haha well no, but they did the trick. This song is very good and I believe it deserved better.

[DEBUT] HELLO VENUS

V-I-C-T-O-R-Y Girls Da da da da da

Their debut song got stuck in my head for two days now, so they deserve a post 😀

The lovely ladies of Hello Venus, the highly anticipated Pledis girl group project, debuted in style!

Not only the members are gorgeous, but their tittle song is great. A FUN CUTE FLIRTY TRACK!

Not bubble gum cute, fill with aegyo, but playful cute… the lyrics and the rhythm are there to give you an upbeat fun moment.  It is not pretentious, Venus is meant to be a good shallow time. And I like it… already looking forward to see more of them!

They also seem to be having fun in the MV, It is so colorful and consistent with the lyrics…just watch it!

So sad Yoonjo is injured, she is not performing in the debut stages, why would Pledis do that? I mean, It couldn’t be posponed until the 6 of them were able to perform?  Anyway… wanna watch the debut stages? scroll down down down
