MY FAVORITE DEBUT SONGS
I have a weakness for debut songs.
I believe so much in first impressions that it is impossible not to judge a group by the song that brings it into the spotlight.
Is true that having a regular/bad debut does not mean you can’t do better later, but It helps a lot if you were succesful from day one… right? You create a large fan base that will help you for future comebacks. You get more media coverage, you are better known and you already have a hit song in your portfolio.
So here are my 30 favorite debut songs. Not all fo them were great achievements for their performers, but I loved them… that is enough to make it on this list… enjoy:
30. Apink – I Don’t Know
So sweet that it can give you cavities. But no one can deny it was a good debut, the best rookies of 2011.
28. Nine Muses – No Playboy
I dont want no playboy…NO! So you have model like girls and a catchy song. Isn’t that what Kpop is all about? haha well no, but they did the trick. This song is very good and I believe it deserved better.
SNSD’S SUB UNIT TAETISEO DEBUTS WITH TWINKLE
Girls’ Generation‘s first sub unit ever released TWINKLE mini album.
Taeyeon, Tiffany, and Seohyun are back as TAETISEO and looking better than ever!
This was so unexpected, when SME announced the sub-unid I thought it was a ballad thing for sure, and then the teasers pics came and admit it…we all were like WTF?
I know I am a little biased for anything SMTOWN, but I am trying hard to be imparcial here, and I must say I LOVE IT! The mini album is great and it shows each member talents so well.
About the tittle song TWINKLE, it sounds like a KPOP version of Lady Marmalade, with a PG content of course. I completely like it! Their powerful voices sound amazing and so in sync with the lyrics and the whole vibe of the song.
The MV is so colorful and pretty, the girls look stunning with every outfit . They smile a lot and flirt with the camera, the MV feels their own, like nothing SNSD has delivered before. There is an interesting twist in Twinkle, they are grown ups… so they are not cute girls, but beautiful women, and they target a larger audience, boys and girls equally.
Are those EXO members running around? I am liking this cameo! … the ad for the perfume NOT SO MUCH!
All and all this is the kind of funky sound and fun MV I like to see more. It goes with me!

25. Starlight Moolinght – Secret
The ladies of Secret really know how to surprise me. While watching the teasers I could only think “ewwww another sweet song”, I was losing my faith in the girls… but how could I? So yeah the tune is as sweet as cookie dough, but it has substance at the same time. I think they deserved more awards for this effort.
24. Ugly – 2NE1
Is not usual to hear a song like this in the kpop world. I felt so much the first time I watched the video, its good now and then to have this type of message and to sing with so much strenght. The amazing girls fron 2NE1 did it again.
23. To me – Rainbow
I´m crazy about the purses they used in the MV, also the dance steps when they say “come come come come to me”. Must say how much I dig those flying long hairs… Now I can finally said that I like Rainbow.
